Molecular sieves, acetates, catalysts, nitrates, solvents, lubricant and oil additives, dyes for petroleum & plastic industry, raw material for personal care, fabric care, and home care products, etc.
A molecular sieve works by adsorbing gas or liquid molecules that are smaller than the effective diameter of its pores, while excluding those molecules that are larger than the openings. A practical example of the function of molecular sieves is to dry ethanol.
Molecular sieves are widely used to dry cracked gas and olefin cuts in their gaseous or liquid phases. This process is critical, since fluids, after drying, are subjected to low temperature treatment. Any remaining water would cause freezing or the formation of hydrates. The immediate consequence would be an operational shutdown.
The term ‘solvent‘ is applied to a large number of chemical substances, which are used to dissolve or dilute other substances or materials. They are usually organic liquids. Many solvents are also used as chemical intermediates, fuels, and as components of a wide range of products.
